There They Go Again: Saturday's Installment of the NYTimes' Kerry Campaign Photo Coverage

Here's my mark-up of the latest NYTimes Kerry shot (Saturday's paper --page A11).

I give them credit for finally including a group of people in a photo of Kerry. However, the fact these people are isolated in the background; the secret service guys bear no personal connection to the candidate; the mysterious hand is getting no attention; and Kerry is looking off in the distance reinforces (once again) the impression of Kerry as detached, narcissistic and out of touch.

I think your observations concerning this are wholly accurate and very interesting, but to be fair to the NYT they did just endorse Kerry for president.

Anyway, keep up the good work, it's all entertaining stuff.

P.S. Great Diebold pics.

The NYT did it again Sunday, Page 19 in the first section. Bush surrounded by people and Kerry isolated in a quasi-sepia long shot.
Whoever picks these photos has an obvious agenda and it is in Bush's favor. I am insulted and outraged by this ham-handed display of partisan photo-manipulation.
Have the dark powers of commercial intimidation touched this formerly reputable journal as well?
