In The Modern Age Of The War On Terror

German-Suspect

Guest post by Peter Hollander

In the modern age of The War on Terror, the masks are on the wrong people, and no one seems to notice.

The perps are visible, out in the open for all to see.  Yet Authority-- those fighting the war-- well... their identity is so important to the fight, the cause, it can't be known.

In fact, we need the caption to remind us who is who.

..!

imho, one of the most profound images : insightful posts you have ever accomplished, Michael.

The masks are off, so that we will see that the perps look just like us. Frearmongering....the neighbor next door in the lovely vacation home in Germany......or, NC.....or New England.....or,or,or.........

indeed.

nice post

Looking at that photo more than once... I could not get over the feeling... that at first I could not identify...somehow I have seen pictures like that before...
Reminds me of captured and their being led, ... "a walk" to execution.
There is no presumption of innocence in this picture!

Wow! Michael J sure is looking chunky these days...

Michael - Great point about the masks. They might as well be kidnappers.

On the flip side, if this guy IS guilty of plotting something -- I'd like everyone to notice that this is a POLICE action, and not a MILLITARY action. Crimes are best left to POLICE AND COURTS, not soldiers and milliary tribunals.

If we'd responded to 911 as if it were a crime, we'd have preserved the crime scene, examined evidence, joined forces with a worldwide criminal investigation and we'd have caught and tried those responsible for it.

I wonder if Bin Laden and Bush would be on the same cell block... ?

wow -- do you know anything more about these masks? are they really worn for identity protection, or could they be for cold in an unheated transport plane, etc? (of course, in that case, not offered to the prisoner(s)...)

To guest poster Michael Hollander the flip side of your assumption is, undercover cops remain under cover, whats wrong with that ? In Germany this fellow will get a fair trial. If the police investigation is ongoing why should they give us the Colgate smile.

Gasho, "If we'd responded to 911 as if it were a crime.." I can't agree more for that's the majority opinion of most folks in other western nations besides Canada.

Its the undercover cops dressed up as Anarchists caught carrying rocks and suspected of attempting to provoke confrontation at the recent Montebello Conference that I find disturbing
