What you have to like about something like this is the suggestion that America -- after years of xenophobia -- might possibly find a way to embrace diversity, pluralism and multiculturalism.

I suspect rather than a rejection of xenophobia, it's more like Kerrey's compliments last week: a way to make Obama look foreign. And foreign is scary.
Maybe I'm misunderestimating the American voter, but I've got to think that there are millions who have no idea there is any difference between Hindi and Arabic, between India and Iran, between Hindism and Islam, between Bollywood and bin Ladin.
