Pithy and apt; what does it say about a nation which purports to be the bastion of democracy, when the top justice official is responsible for the administrations' casual indifference to torture? While you're at it, why not Ralph Reed as National Director of Race Relations? Or Bob Jones as head of the Interfaith Alliance? Is this all part of some gigantic, ironic joke? I suppose it's just another coincidence that Gonzales has been Bush's legal advisor for years, and that he's an Evangelical Christian. So it doesn't matter how many 'ragheads' get beaten or killed under Gonzales' rationale of abuse, as long as he worships the 'right' God. Your nation is in a shitload of trouble if this is the best representative of justice to be found. Who would've thought anyone could make Ashcroft look good?

how long before a derogatory remark made about him is attributed to racism?
